The Flathead County Parks Board has completed its revisions to the Parks and Recreation Master Plan.   The plan is the outcome of an extensive planning process that included communty meetings, focus groups, on-line community preference survey, Parks Board workshops and media coverage.  The plan offers a vision and framework for decision makers to acquire and develop park land to seve the future needs of Flathead County residents.  The plan''s priorities include securing public access to lakes and rivers, acquiring land for future parks, construction of a recreation center/gymnasium and trails development.  It emphasizes partnerships and leveraging existing assets to obtain grants and other funding resources for development of parks. 

The revised draft is on-line.  The Plan has been forwarded to the Flathead County Planning Board.  The public may still review the Master Plan and submit comments to the Planning Board.  The Planning Board public hearing has not yet been scheduled.  You may dowlonad the draft chapters and all maps from the County web site by clicking on the following link.
